Professor Dr Talal Yusaf is an accomplished academician and leader in the field of higher education, emerging technologies, and renewable energy. Currently serving as the Executive Dean of Higher Education and Emerging Technologies at Aviation Australia, Queensland Government, he also holds the position of Professor at Central Queensland University. With an extensive international career spanning over 31 years, Professor Dr Talal Yusaf has held key roles, including Pro Vice Chancellor and Professor at Federation University Australia and Executive Director at the University of Southern Queensland.
His academic achievements are marked by two Ph.D.s in Renewable Energy and Biotechnology, reflecting his expertise in areas such as Renewable Energy, Hydrogen Technologies, Environmental Pollution, and Alternative Fuels for Internal Combustion Engines. Professor Dr Talal Yusaf has played a significant role in research, supervising over 50 Ph.D. and postgraduate students and contributing to over 200 journals and 10 books.
Throughout his career, Professor Dr Talal Yusaf has been actively involved in various leadership and advisory roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for Aviation Australia, Queensland Government, and the Aviation Australia Riyadh College in Saudi Arabia. He has been a member of key forums such as the Deputy/Pro Vice Chancellor International Forum and the Australian Universities International Directors Forum.
In his current role as Executive Dean, Professor Dr Talal Yusaf oversees Higher Education Programs and Research and Development in Aviation Australia, with notable projects involving Green Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology for aircraft. His leadership extends to international business and partnerships, particularly in the ASEAN and Middle East regions.
With a commitment to international collaboration, Professor Dr Talal Yusaf has contributed to university review and audit panels in various countries and serves as a Strategic Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq. His professional memberships and affiliations include roles in prestigious journals and organizations, reinforcing his standing as a leader in academia.
Professor Dr Talal Yusaf's notable accomplishments also include being ranked among the world's top 2% researchers by Elsevier, holding an ORCID with a Scopus H index of 46, and actively participating in editorial boards for leading journals.
